Cool Off Your Pooch with These Frozen Treats

August 5, 2012

These treats are tasty, cool & healthy.  (Humans have been caught red handed raiding the freezer).

Peanut Butter & Carob Swirl

32 oz plain lo or non-fat yogurt

1 cup organic peanut butter-smooth

1/2 cup carob chips

Divide yogurt evenly into each cup of a 6 cup muffin pan.

Scoop peanut butter into a small bowl.

Pour carob chips into a microwave safe bowl and microwave on high, stirring every 15 seconds until the chips are melted (unlike chocolate, carob is safe for dogs to eat in moderation).

Fold the melted carob into the peanut butter just until combined.

Place a spoonful of the peanut butter mixture on top of each muffin cup.

Using a toothpick gently swirl the peanut butter mixture with the yogurt.

Freeze until solid.

Unmold and store up to two months (good luck with that one) in a freezer bag.  pz
