Even as a kitten, Tuxedo Cat Henri (or as you American’s say “Henry”) displayed zi talent for clawing fabric into fanciful designs.  Eschewing the traditional scratching post for furniture (every artiste’ haz to start somewhere) Henri became absorbed wiz different fibers--fluffing, shredding and clawing it into ze shapes.

Hiz mistress, Anita, an artist in her own right, recognized hiz talent and encouraged him by nailing bits of discarded fabric and carpet to the wall where he could easily work. 

“He’s a true artist,” explains Anita, “he works as the mood strikes, breaking in a fresh portion of fiber by scratching it all over then zeroing in on certain spots.”  A finished piece can take months and hiz pieces embrace both ze modern and retro periods. 

Henri’s talent haz not gone undiscovered. 

He haz been featured on Animal Planet’s Cats 101. 

He haz also had an exhibition at the Bangor Public Library in hiz home state of Maine.
